Triad Family Services - Why Were Here

Established in 1988, Triad Family Services is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) foster family agency providing both long term and short term placement to children ages infancy through eighteen. Offices are located in Sacramento, San Leandro, Yuba City, Chico and Lodi and serve the 27 surrounding Counties. Triad Family Services is licensed by the State of California to recruit and certify foster parents and currently has approximately 200 foster homes serving over 350 children.

Triad Family Services enjoys collaborative relationships with both County and State agencies. Sacramento County has set measurable standards for foster family agencies, and Triad has consistently met and exceeded these standards. CPS and law enforcement chose Triad as one of three foster family agencies for child placement following a task force operation. Sacramento County stated that Triad’s response was exemplary. State of California Department of Social Services Community Care licensing office recently invited Triad’s administrative staff to assist in training foster family agency applicants. In addition, Triad Family Services works closely with Independent Living Programs, a statewide agency that has endorsed new programs we are involved in.

To ensure stabilization of each child’s placement, Triad works closely with families to address the challenges inherent in fostering a troubled child. This is accomplished by matching foster children with compatible foster parents, streamlining foster care placement, providing intensive social work and care management services, accessing group and family counseling for foster children and foster families, and effectively training foster parents to provide specialized therapeutic foster care. It is the agency’s primary responsibility to give children in foster care the greatest chance at healthy development by providing caregivers with the emotional and financial resources they need to play a healing role in the lives of the children in their care.

Triad maintains a staff that is both highly qualified and personally committed to the well being of foster children. The agency’s social workers have earned Master’s degrees in the fields of Behavioral Sciences or Social Work and have previous experience in these fields. Triad also maintains an in-house counseling center staffed by licensed psychologists as well as MFCC and MSW interns. In addition to providing these therapeutic services, Triad staff also holds many activities for the foster families throughout the year, including an annual summer picnic, holiday parties, cultural activities and other entertainment and organized outings.

Triad Family Services is dedicated to providing outstanding care for the children that are referred to the agency. Responding to the ever-increasing scope and complexity of their needs and the needs of the families who care for them, Triad continuously strives to stay abreast of best practices research to improve program services, provide competent compassionate support, and seek innovative ways to serve foster children.
