Resource Family Parent VS Foster Parent
As of January 2017 California law has created a new classification. Instead of utilizing foster parents the state want to start approving resource families. Which is new classification that now encompasses different types of care givers, such as foster parents and relatives.

So there is no major difference in the day to day care and responsibilities of a foster parent versus an resource family parent.

Resource family parents are still individuals or couples that seek to provided day to day care for children that are under the care of the court and or county or state agencies. Resource families will include family members seeking care of their children that are in the care of the court and or other county or state agency.
